Why is the advanced button grayed out when configuring LINQDataSource

I noticed something odd when I add a new LINQDataSource on my page. When I configure the datasource, and check 2 or 3 fields, my advance button is grayed out and not available to select "Enable the LinqDataSource to perform automatic deletes, inserts, updates". When I click the * field for all fields, then the "Advanced" button is enabled and I can check the 3 options I just mentioned.
